uninstall recommandations (deleted iwinstall :D)

hi,
i accidently deleted iwinstall of TS search 1.0.0... and now i want to remove it all from my system, and then install fresh one...
i tried control panel >add / remove prod > and remove search sp2 (didnt did anything) then remove search 1.0.0... they got removed from the list in matter of a second which tells me that it didnt work... i am almost sure that it is because it couldnt find iwinstall foler...

before i do anything else that will hurt me, i wanted to take your advice based on your experience.

how do i remove search from the system completely?

Sorry to say this but I've accidentally deleted the iwinstall directory before, too, and I found myself having to mess with the Windows registry to get it back to a state where I could install it again.

do you remmeber how you messd with the registry? did you just delete enteries that have to do with the search component?

how did you remove the software?

First BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY

Stop the services. Start looking for the path for search in the registry and remove. Hope and pray.

Yea, also when you are running regedit go to LOCAL_MCHINE/SOFTWARE/INTERWOVEN and remove Search

so i tried to install the 2.0.0 and it complained about not being able to find the version, so the only needed fix to that Smiley Very Happy

is to delete LOCAL_MCHINE/SOFTWARE/INTERWOVEN/search (nothing else in the registry)

and i did rename interwoven/search to interwoven/search_old just to keep my config files.
everything else went soo smooth and nice Smiley Very Happy
