Stores getting frozen

Recently after the TS 6.5 SP3 installation we are encountering a typical issue.where the stores getting frozed and each time we need to run iwfreeze -- command to unfroze it.

We are trying to find out the reason behind this anomolous behavior.
Is there log files or any config files which can help us to delve into the issue further?

There are a number of logfiles you can look at - iwserver.log and iwtrace.log are probably the most likely candidates for finding relevant information - by default they are located in IWHOME/local/logs - but they could be located somewhere else depending on site customizations.

Another thing to try is running iwstat -c

In most cases - this tends to be due to disk space, memory, and/or inode resource problems on the server - which can be tweaked a bit by settings in the iw.cfg file, but if you're running low on the default settings, just tweaking those settings is unlikely to resolve the problem in the long run.

I found no errors in iwserver.log but in iwtrace.log I found that.
"Error: Event Subsystem is down, Restart Event Subsystem and run iwreset"

Its true that eventsubsystem is not running and search is not working.But can it be reason to frezee the Workarea!!

can you check out the size of the eventsubsystem log/db file. If its too large try
1. Stop the event subsystem service
2. take the backup of the log/db file on some other machine.
3. Delete the existing log/db files and
4. Restarting the eventsubsystem.

Check out if the things work for u

Event subsystem is not required for the TeamSite if the dependent modules like search/reporting/OD are not running. Only thing that needs to be taken care of in this case is the deletion of the workflow tasks from the backing store. Please see the product documentation on how to remove these jobs manually. Deleting the eventsubsystem database will persist these jobs in the backing store.

After a server restart what all info is showing up in iwtrace.log? Can you post some of that information from iwtrace.log
