Write permission removed while using TeamSite

Hi,

The following scenario has happened a lot while I am using TeamSite:

- The user has write permissions in a specific workarea but while working in his/her workarea, the write permission is suddenly removed and all "Edit" links get disabled. Usually, if the user logs out and logs in again or closes the browser, and re starts a TeamSite session, the write permission gets re-enabled again.

I really would like to know why and when this happens? and how to avoid this?

Can you please provide your Teamsite server details (version, patches) and also environment details (OS, version, patches).. ??

The Teamsite server is running TS 6.5 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 SP1.

Have you installed the SP1 on Windows Server 2003 recently ?
When did the problem actually started ? like after installation of any patch, etc.

It is a new server and we did not install anything since we installed Teamsite. This a new project and we started facing this about a month after the Teamsite installation.

Can you please elaborate the event on which the case has happened. It can be a submit, an edit or else. Smiley Happy

Usually it happens after editing, saving and generating a page. For one user, this happened after editing a form and when trying to generate the HTML page, the user lost the write permission and got an error saying "save unsuccessful. you do not have write permission needed to create or overwrite this file."

Are these domain accounts?
Does the TS server have a good, reliable, robust, connection to your Active Directory server?
Is your Active Directory server reliable and robust?

I ask - because it sounds like some sort of communications problem between TeamSite and the AD server such that periodically the authentication of users is called into question.

You also might check through some Support KB articles and/or with Support directly - as I seem to recall that there was some authentication caching mechanism in use for a while in TS that didn't always work correctly and you might need to alter some setting on the TS server to fix it.
