Search results page pagination

Hi,

Does anyone know how to get total # pages in search results pages. In teamsite 6.5 sp2 after a search when there are more pages the navigation buttons below the lower right corner does not display total # of pages.

Number of the pages in the search results are not known for the search query and they are lazily detemined only when the user cliks on the next page.
This is done so becuse unlike the simple web search there is more to the document management software. The search needs to know which all documents, who all can view and hence the post processing (filtering) has to be carried out in the raw results from the indexes. Filtering requires talking to teamsite for the file permission related stuff and will cause the performance overhead if all the results are calculted.
