Is there a firewall between these two machines? Can you connect with a client query tool, for instance, from your TS box to SQL Server?

jiten

Thanks for your quick respose Ruby

No, Firewall between to M/C, we are able to connect with SQL server through it's client with same credentials
Please let me know if i am doing somthing wrong in DatabaseXML for the same

Okay, well my name isn't really "Ruby" -- it's "Dave", which is above where it says "Ruby" -- but I'm glad to [try to] help. I don't see anything wrong with your database.xml or your DD config but what I thought was strange is that in your error message, there's a [red]&sql7=true[/red] injected in the connection URL. I guess it's the JDBC driver that's doing that but I don't think I've seen that before.

If someone with a better answer doesn't reply first, I'd try calling support about this and ask them if you need to update your driver. To my knowledge, the only driver that many people have needed to update from the OD installation is Oracle's, though.

Okay, so that's how we're crafting our nicknames, I guess? I don't know which is a worse nickname, Ruby or "2nd Life - amethyst". Mine at least rhymes with stuff. Yours -- well, first off, do you PRONOUNCE the hyphen and if so, how? This raises a bunch of questions.

I apologies for addressing you with wrong name and appreciates your help

Hi jiten,

Assuming the database is up and running, MS might have gotten "sneaky" and changed some things with an update that causes the driver we ship to no longer work. I don't know that for a fact, but it does not seem "out of the question".

The good news is that you should have the latest MSSqlServer2000 JDBC drivers on your SqlServer machine. (We can't legally ship them with our product or else we would.) If you copy the three (3) jar files msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, and msutil.jar into the /userlib dir and change the database.xml file vendor attribute to vendor="microsoft-microsoft" it will hopefully clear up any problems you have.

Thanks,
Mike
