Invalid log File Configuration

From my application, I'm trying to connect to the Worksite MP 5Beta Library.

my code is:

SessionManager manager = SessionManager.getInstance();
SimpleSession session = manager.createSimpleSession("myAppName", "vmdemo");
session.logon(userId, password);

when it arrives to the session.logon line, I have the following error:

Look at


SessionManager.initializeCmsLog(applicationName)
SessionManager.setCmsDirPath(path)
SessionManager.setCmsLogDirPath(path)

before calling anything on SessionManager, in that order, the last one is optional. This is a "known" change from WOM4 to WOM5

Where can I find the applicationName ?

ApplicationName is just a string for ex: "com.mycompany.myapp" or "myapp".

And the CmsDirPath and CmsLogDirPath ?

The CmsDirPath is where you point WOM to the directory where you have your logging properties file and errorCodes file. For example you can put your log4j properties file there.
An acceptable hierarchy is:

<yourCmsDirPath>/config/code //this will where you can put your errorCodes.xml and DTD

and

<yourCmsDirPath>/config/log //this is where you put your logger properties files "default.properties"

if you do not specify the optional CmsLogDirPath path, WOM will start logging in to the specified CmsDirPath/log

I'm writing this code in Eclipse, so stuff will point to my dev workspace.


SessionManager.setCmsDirPath("C:/eclipse/workspace/myApp");
SessionManager manager = SessionManager.getInstance();  
SessionManager.initializeCmsLog("myApp");

Under C:/eclipse/workspace/myApp, I have a config directory, which has two

log
code

directories. The log directory contains log4j properties in "default.properties" and code directory contains errorsCodes.xml

In the log directory have a file called "log4j.enabled" empty file. The default.properties must be a valid log4j properties file

SessionManager.initializeCmsLog("myAppName");

In "C:/worksitemp5/mpserver/config" I have the code and logs file you say.

The code compiles, but when running, it stops just before the SessionManager.setCmsDirPath line.
If I comment this line, I get the error I talked you about...
So I don't know how to go on...

Is there anything else I should configure ?

SessionManager.setWriteableCmsDirPath(path)

Dont have the API code handy, so something setWritetable... for SessionManager. I usually have this path pointing to my systems temp directory(java.io.tmpDir)(C:/WINNT/Temp, /tmp)...

but it is the same as before... the code compiles, but it stops in that line...

Is there anywhere where I could find the Worksite MP 5Beta api ?

I have this same issue when following all the steps outlined in this thread. Has anybody posted a resolution to this yet?

Set cms.dir from your Java command line (-Dcms.dir=some_path) and call:

CmsLogger.initialize(app_name);

as the first line in your main().

This too did't work. Has anyone written the Java client to connect to WSMP ? I am also getting similiar error and unable to proceed.
