Need a way to prevent users from opening prior versions

I need to know if anyone knows of a way to prevent users from opening prior versions? Particularly, I would like to prevent them from opening prior versions of a certain file type, but if no other options are available, I would prevent opening prior versions of all types.

If you're customizing this for WorkSite Desktop Client, you may use an ICommand Wrapper to check for the document type and version before enabling the command status that allows the user to open the document.
