Unable to delete workspace - Currently in use

I am the only user who use the WSMP but when I want to delete a workspace that I create, this error message appear.

WorkSite MP cannot delete this item. It is currently in use.

Confirm that the item is no longer in use, and then delete it.

The content has been cleared leaving Overview tab only. I make sure all pending review has been cleared before deleting the workspace.

My Question is

1) What may have caused this error message?
2) What steps should I take to delete this workspace now?

May I know which workflow engine that you referring to? Is it WSMP Process Manager Service?

Sounds like either and object or a relationship still exists in the workspace. Here are some things to check that have caught me out before.

1) Make sure the trash bin is empty.
2) All Workgroups are deleted.
3) All security policies are deleted.
4) Any project templates have been removed.
5) Any links to this workspace from other workspaces are removed.
6) All members are deleted.
7) All tags are deleted.

It seems that I can't delete certain documents. What can I do to remove them?

What do you mean. They can not be purged from the trash bin ?

This may be due to a version of the document still being checked out to a user. Try restoring the document and then checking versions to see if anyone is holding a checkout version currently.

Unfortunately, the document is in normal status. It is never checked out because I am the only one who use wsmp for now. I did try to move the document back to workspace, import new version before deleting, but the file still cannot be deleted.

Further information when I try to delete the file manually.

Click Back. You can continue to use the application but this operation will be unavailable. Contact your support staff for information about your security rights.

As far as I know, workspace creator has the full control of workspace. Even if I assign myself in workgroups with full control, the result is the same. The file I believe is not corrupted because I still can download it.

you should check the cms log, make sure there is no SQL Exception occurred.
I had faced the similar problem, there so many SQL exceptions in my cms log.
Seems the referenced key(Foreign Key) error.
I tried to delete the record from DB(!! Bad idea)..

Forget it if there is no any sql exception in your logs.^.^

We experience the same issue with our WSMP installation. If you are using WSMP 4.1 there is a bug with the application that does not allow you to delete documents that have had a review initiated on them. The most you can do is move them to the trash bin. This, however, will not allow you to delete the workspace.

We have reported this issue to Interwoven and it is supposed to be fixed with WSMP 5.

Do you have the Bug ID / Defect Number?
