What is the best way to configure a workflow for sending a mail?
How do i implement the same?
where to specify the to, from, subject etc parameters?

I am totally new to teamsite so can somebody help me out with the same.

I would suggest you to read Workflow Developer's guide. It talks about sending Email and other stuffs related to workflow configuration...

Read out more for iw_solution_email.ipl which has been given within solutions workflow to send mail using external task from a workflow.

Ya read that, I tried to do what i could get from it.

PFA the code files what i am using, here i am able to call iw_solution_email.ipl file form my wft file but I guess I am missing something. Please can u help me out in figuring out as to what is going wrong.

The name you have mentioned in the workflow is "iw_solution_email1.ipl"

__INSERT__(get_cmd("iw_solution_email1.ipl", "Approver"));

But the file name you have given is iw_solution_email.ipl.. no "1" attached with the name....

also you would need to give the path for the same....

Did you configure the maildomain, and mailserver in your iw.cfg file - beneath the [iwsend_mail] heading?
Are you getting an error?
Does the workflow transition to the next task but no email is delivered?
In other words - what exactly is happening and not happening (as the case may be)

Please post the teamsite version, there might be problems with impersonation if 6.7.1.

Also can you post the send_mail logs and utild logs.

The error while running from cmd is because it accepts taskid, jobid, to , from(using taskid), etc.

This seems to be an error with your perl file I mean you are trying to use any variable which is not initialized.. I would suggest you to debug your perl file and also as fish has suggested please provide the details of your action and the outcome...

you can give: the mail domain configuration, mail server configuration, the changes u have done in iw.cfg, any error message if you are getting..
