OpenDeploy issue

Hi friends,

We have the OpenDeploy5.2 software installed on the Solaris machine. However the OD software is by default installed to the OpenDeployNG folder.
Now how would I know if the software installed is an OD baseserver or OD receiver server?

OD receiver is installed on the server where you want to receive the file while OD base is installed from where you want to deploy the file.

Goto \OpenDeployNG\etc and check

i) OD receiver will have odrcvr.xml
ii) OD base will have odbase.xml

PS: Please post questions in proper category. For Open Depoy realted issues there is a sepearte category in devnet.

One correction here, base will have both the files odrcvr.xml and odbase.xml.
Also if you have just reciever installed then you may not have the directory OpenDeployNG

As of my knowledge is concerned, I hope both OD baseserver and OD receiverserver will be installed to the OpenDeployNG folder.

Moreover the OD baseserver may contain both odbase.xml and odrcvr.xml.
We need to still find out........ how do we know if it is OD base or OD receiver installed to the OpenDeployNG folder.

NO:

Hmm - just noticed this second line - which is also incorrect - as of OD5 - all installations of either the base or receiver software will create the OpenDeployNG directory.

There is not a separate install for the receiver if you have the base. The base server includes all receiver functionality.
