OD gui displays "The selected host cannot be contacted at this time."

Hello friends,

We are using OD version: 6.0.0

When we log into OD GUI, it displays the message " Server Unavailable. The selected host can not be contacted."

I restarted the server once, but still the problem persists.

Also what I noticed is, the browser shows the Opendeploy version as "5.6.0.1.0" on the login page.

I am new to this software.

Stop & Start both Admin and OD server.
if SUN do
#ps -ef | grep Admin -- to check if admin server is running properly
#ps -ef | grep Open -- to check if OD server is running properly.

something similar for Win through services.

Please update the thread with result of iwodserverstatus, this will confirm that the problem is only with admin server and not OD base.

If it is old installation and stuck, please archive the logs as well (both admin and OD) .. Good practice.

I only restarted the OD (iwod60 stop/start) not the admin server. Actually i wanted to restart the admin server as well ... but did not find the iwodadmin command. Is there any other command to stop/start admin server.

For restarting OD Admin service on windows,the command is
net stop/start iwodadmin

on unix,
iwodadmin stop/start

But I am not able to find the iwodadmin command. One thing i forgot to tell you is, My Teamsite server and OpenDeploy server are running on the same host. And the Teamsite version is:
iwserver: 6.1.0 Build 33333 Interwoven 20040311

There is a command called iwtcboot. Shall I use this to stop/start the admin server?

I think you should be reading admin guide !!!
please go to /etc/init.d and see if you find iwodadmin there, please use this command to start/stop.
Else go to the Adminserver directory and see for this command.

If you're on Unix - look in /etc/init.d/ for the iwodadmin script.

Are you sure the Admin GUI was re-installed?
Given your earlier statement about the version mismatch between iwodcmd and what you saw in the Admin GUI - it sounds like there was an older version of OD installed with the Admin GUI, and then the Admin GUI software was removed (but somehow the URI is still responding?) and OD was upgraded.

I'd suggest downloading and installing the Admin GUI software [again] - and make sure that the URL you are using to access it is relative to the machine on which you are installing it.
