Branch list, the enigma

Can anyone give me a 'heads up' on the latest rumours surrounding how the available_templates.cfg branch list now works in 6.7.1. please?
Can one now limit a workflow to a Branch sub-folder for all types of workflow initiations (tt_data, submit etc)?
Does branch now work for worklfows initiated directly from a Workflow job, as hinted at by Ghoti back in 2005?

Can you remind me / us - what that "hint" was?
I don't believe there is anything that prevented a sub-workflow from being instantiated directly from another workflow based on branch path - but I don't recall ever trying to deal with that as an issue.

You can launch a workflow from the workflow tab - but:

Sub-folders, as far as I know, still works for everything except tt_data / tt_deletedcr initiated jobs - those have, and I believe still do, restrict the built-in branch path to just the branch path (not even workarea, let alone directory path)
