Getting and changing group of a file/folder

Hi All,

I am writing a script where I have to create new DCRs and generate output files. This is just a standalone perl script. To create the new directory structure for DCRs, I need to run mkdir -p option. The problem is when I create any folder or file through the script, the script creates it with the unix group of my userid.

So What I need is to create the folders, get the tsgroup of the workarea and apply that tsgroup to the actual dcr and all the folders leading upto the dcr from the data folder.

Can someone tell me how I can get the tsgroup of a workarea?
Also how I can change the tsgroup of a dcr.

Example structure for the DCR,
....WORKAREA/DEVELOPMENT/templatedata/Internet/Redirect/data/home/forum/testFile.xml
This whole path group needs to be changed: /home/forum/testFile.xml

If someone has some other approach, then let me know that also.

Hi All,

I got how to change the tsgroup of a file. Its iwchgrp command. but I still could not find how to get the group of a WORKAREA.

Any help would be appreciated.
