I create a workflow ,and iwsend_mail.ipl is used.

I write comment with chinese in task. when mail is be sending ,error is occur:

ERROR: Unable to send notification: Wide character in syswrite at d:/iw-home/iw-perl/lib/Net/Cmd.pm line 430

Interwoven doesn't support multiple / several characters. Although it should support the language onto which your OS / Teamsite is installed.

Please let us know the server_locale set in iw.cfg file?

IIRC, the "Wide character" error/warning is related to UTF8 output on a non-UTF handle (or so / etc). The type of error we got plenty of when migrating own code from TS 5.5.2 to TS6.x+ due to the Perl version change. What's your platform, and did you migrate recently?

platform is windows2000.
and we use teamsite 6.5.0 at all times. so we did not migrate .

Help yourself - take the phrase "Wide character in syswrite" - go to google, plug it into the search box and then start looking through the results.

In the other thread you started about this issue, I believe you asked if Chinese characters are supported. I think they are because if you look at the property files provided with the email templates, there are .property files for Korean, Japanese, and _zh which may be Chinese.

Have you altered iwsend_mail.ipl? Try turning on debugging in iwsend_mail.ipl.

Though I have read a lot of articles about this problem (& solutions), I have not found a fix yet. Infact, I am very unclear about the problem itself, Can anyone explain it to me as to when/why this exception is thrown? Was this problem fixed?
