Accessing webservice in worksite web 8.2

Hi,

I have one requirement, i have folder structure and it contains text files and sub folders in local machine.Through using proxie webservice i'm trying to automate this process. I'm trying to create a new workspace and replicate the folder structure and files in to interwoven as such in local machine. I'm using iManage.WorkSite.Web.Proxies to do the above operation.

connection = new iManage.WorkSite.Web.Proxies.Connection(baseUrlTxt.Text, "username", "password", domainTxt.Text);

when i process this line i'm getting an Exception The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized

The interwoven uses a custom owned user name and password.

If you are attempting to consume the web methods of the IWovServices Web Service, this is how you connect to an instance of it:

[C#]
IWOVServices WSWSvcs = new IWOVServices();
WSWSvcs.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;

This Web Service is available through ""\Interwoven\WorkSite\Web\Services\IWOVServices.asmx

I'm tried your code, but i'm getting the same error.

Then you should check your server connection. Also, check your Web.config to make sure you're setting the servername that is used to connect to the expected server.

I'm trying to access the webmethods of IwovServices, in my windows application. I get "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized" error. The following is my code:

I think I've found the solution...

- Add reference to another webservice called Services\Echo.asmx

- Create an instance for "Echo" same way as you do for "IWOVServices"

- Call Echo.Ping() before using IWOVServices web methods

I need to solve this exact problem as well in worksite web 8.2, though I am stuck one step earlier. I cannot get the following suggested code to compile:

IWOVServices WSWSvcs = new IWOVServices();
WSWSvcs.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;

I've added the service as a reference, but the first line fails -- Visual Studio complains that IWOVServices is a 'namespace' (not a class). I also tried:


IWOVServices.WOVServicesSoapClient client = new IWOVServices.WOVServicesSoapClient();
client.ClientCredentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;

But that fails because the compiler says ClientCredentials is a read-only field. Any ideas?
