What is your question? Check if this happens for all users-

If not, clear your browser's cache and try again.
Check which version of JRE are you running? Is it compatible with your version of TS.
IF above does not help, check if its happening for all data types or is it just this one?

try other basic troubleshooting steps. its certainly not a TS problem. Which version on which OS are you running? What JRE is installed on Client and the server machines. Is your browser configured properly to use the right version of the JRE?

Much more information is needed to help. Other than moonkhanna's questions, is this happening for all DCT's with a VFE?

it is only happening in few dcrs and it is not also happeing in other machine.
it is weird. I checked the browsers. The version are the same.
Any more ideas why it just hang not responding?

We are facing exactly the same problem. Env : TS 6.5 SP3, IE 6.0 SP2, Solaris

We (every user) are facing this issue in the first page of our paginated DCRs. We have a DCR that is 16 pages long and has 3 visual format fields in the first page and several VFEs across all the pages. After clicking on edit, if we try to scroll down the first page to the VFE field, IE hangs. But if we navigate to a different page of the DCR (which need not have VFE) and return to the first page, we are able to scroll to the VFE fields without crashing IE. If we do not have any content in the VFE it works just fine.

Looks like something is happenning at onload of VFE when it tries to get the content for the first time.

We are facing this issue post-SP3 upgrade. I would bet my money on that to be the root cause, but it can also be an organization wide change/upgrade as well that happenned for the DST issue. We had the SAME DCT before SP3 upgrade and it never had any issue.

The JVM version on my machine is 1.4.2_08 and my IE uses MS JVM and not sun JVM.

I have opened a case with support but so far they have not been able to help.

I know that in the past there were some server patches available for VFE issues. Not sure if they have any for this issue.

Could this be a client side memory issue?, and does anyone know how to increase the memory allocated to browser?

Will the mod_expires module help?

Any pointers is highly appreciated!

Check the TS 6.5 SP3 documentation for supported JVM on the client side. Probably the RN should have the information. Check to see if you are running the same version. Which version of Client OS and which version, SP for IE/ browser are you using. They also make a difference

I can not check the documentation right now but as far as I remember MS JVM is not supported type.

I reverted my browser to use Sun JVM 1.4.2_08. It still crashes. Does VFE has
anything to do with JVM? I searched the ektron site but I could not find any mention about JVM. Anyway,
I think we can rule it out probably as I have tested it out with Sun JVM 1.4.2 .

Not sure if VFE uses JVM but CCI definitely does to render the templates.

Were you able to try this and did this solve the issue you had? We have the issue on production server, so we want to be cautious here.

yes it works fine. Make sure to back up your file and merge the file correctly.
I suggest to do it when nobody using the server.

For us, it did not work with mod_expires (infact mod_expires is already active on our server). We noticed that maxmizing the DCR before scrolling down to VFE prevents the crash ..so for the timebeing we are maximizing the DCR window on load. Support is validating whether this is a bug.

Hi,
We are having the same issue. The DCR gets hanged when scroll down.
It is reported by two user till now. There are 3-4 applications on the server which have almost 10-15 DCT with VFF. But, we never got this issue before. It is reported only for one DCT as of now.
Then I tried it on my machine and ran into the same problem for that perticular DCT. But the strange thing is that, it happens very random. Sometime, it works, most of the time gets hang. One time I am able to open and work on the DCR, next time no luck.
It is happening only on production server not on staging server. So, can not even try some code modification for trial and error.
Is it really a bug in TS or is it something to do with VFF or client setup?

Env: TS 6.5 Sp2 on windows server 2003
Client: IE 6, JRE 1.6 on windows XP Professional SP2.

Any help is appreciated.
