Retrive values from the xml

Hi all,
I have a requirement where i've to get the values from the existing xml.
So that when the user will enter some new entry by the dct it will check in the existing xml file that the value exist earlier or not.
If it exist there it will show some alert.My main aim is to avoid duplicacy.
please put some light on this.

Am working in TS 6.7.0 win env.
Am not checking DCR-A with DCR-B rather i want to check the new entry(for ex in DCR-A) with the already generated xml files by that same datacapture.cfg.
I have used Microsoft.XMLDOM to get the values from that xml file.

You are checking DCR-A with DCR-B (and C, and D, etc.)
Read the perldoc on TeamSite: Smiley Very Happy

CRnode and/or TeamSite::XMLnode for information about how to use those modules.

Thanq all for your valuable replies..
I am able to get the values from the existing xml files.
Also as per my requirement i am validating the the new entry in the dct with the existing values in the xml files to avoid the duplicacy.
But how to update the existing xml if the value is not present there earlier..
Please put some light on this..

ya am still using XMLDOM.
By the way i donno know how to append the valus from the dct to the xml using the XMLDOM.

Hi ,

You have to use some functions & script (ASP, etc) to do this:
Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM")
createElement("rootElement")
appendChild objChild1

There are other functions as well, which can be used. If you need more help on this, GOOGLE is the answer.
