Publishing a document in WorkRoute

Hello,
I am trying to create a workflow template that will publish a document from a Workspace to a KnowledgeSpace. I don't have WorkRoute documentation (already put in a request) so I am trying to go through the examples and figuring out how it may work for me.
I took a look at the sample workflow called Contracts Approval in WorkRoute and it doest what I need.
Here are my questions if anyone can answer:
1. Is publish to knowlegde space a built in function of WorkFlow or do I have to add an external jar?
2. The description of the node that publishes the document says: "The node simply calls a helper class to publish the attached documents to the attached knowledge space(repository) locations"
-- What is an attached knowledge space? How do I attach a knowledge space to a collaboration space?
-- The script that this node uses is: publish("kspace")...Is that all that is needed to publish a document? Is kspace a UDA?
3. While publishing, how do I link an attached document to categories in a knowledge space?
