How to use formspublisher to create templates in 6.7.1.0

I have installed teamsite 6.7.1.0. Now i want to run example templates which have been created during installation for practice purpose. Can someone please guide on how to create forms using FormsPublisher.

For getting this you need to have support id with you.. try to contact somebody in your organization who has this id.. Smiley Happy

Interwoven support is a paid service so nobody should mail or share this information...

If your organization has the support id then you should download all developers / admin guides and keep them on a shared drive so that all can use it...

i have read the admin and installation guide, but the concept is not clear.

Follow below steps...

1. create required directory structure
2. create datacapture.cfg
3. configure it in templating.cfg
4. start using it

But I don't think this much information is going to help you if you have not done it before..

This is all covered in the FormsPublisher Developer's Guide - which your organization should retrieve from the Support site and provide to you. Either that or you should go through TeamSite training offered by Interwoven.

If you are unable to get to you local support contact - I suggest you send email to supportadmin@interwoven.com - explain the situation, and see if they'll send you a copy of the manual (I'm not saying they will, but they at least have the right to do so - whereas we don't)

As Ghoti has rightly said you need to refer Form Publisher Developer's Guide.. although here is the configuration you need to do in templating.cfg

Goto the location in Teamsite GUI... select File -> Form New Entry

I would again suggest to please go through the support documentation.. Smiley Happy

to create a DCR, i did as u said i.e. i went to that location in teamsite GUI and seleted file-> new file entry
But i m getting an error something like this..............
" Unable to create a new form of type internet/careers under the branch //chdsez90950d/default/main/final. This form was not configured for this branch or you do not have permission to access it "

The branch structure of my teamsite is as follows :
chdsez90950d
default
main
final

And internet is a category nd careers is a datatype.

You can remove the .* from the branch vpath-regex and try again.
If you are able to see the File--> New File Entry menu item enabled, then you have permission to create a new file in that area.

It's not New File - it's New Form (New File is for something else)

If the problem persists - it means something is wrong with your templating.cfg file with respect to what you're trying to do or where you're trying to do it.

All this being said - you really need to spend some time with the manuals and/or get some training (even the web-based training could probably help, though given the questions being asked, an instructor-led course may be better suited)

And i m not able to get ne training, be it web based or instructor led, as this product is being used for the first time in my location. Moreover, if you think dat the level of questions being asked is too low, then u better neglect these questions. There are others who will help me out in learning teamsite. And this developer network site is meant for sharing doubts, of what level they are it doesn't matter....

You are new to this forum so let me tell you something... Ghoti is a senior most member of this forum and we all respect him for his knowledge and helpful nature.... please don't make any personal comment as everybody is here to share information and help each other..

Let us know if your problem is solved and you are able to use File -> New Form Entry or not..

BTW, there are some organizations/people who provide training on Teamsite.. ask your company and they can arrange it for you... it's good as you may come across several problems while doing everything on your own..

It's just an advice so please don't take it otherwise...

I'm not sure I follow the logic of the above -- it is precisely because this is the first time this product is being used that you should get training -- if you'd been using it for 5 years I would hope you wouldn't need (that much) training.

Also - web based training is available because you can do it at your own pace at your own schedule -- so other than the fact that it costs money (what doesn't?) - there's no real good reason for not at least attempting to go through some of the on-line courses.

If you can't understand the problem from spending time with the manuals, and you don't want to get training ... well best of luck, but I think you're just shooting yourself in the feet.

Well ghoti, i m sorry for whatever i said abt u in the past few days. It was not intentional but i was frustrated because of the problems that i was facing in forms publisher in the last few days.
Now i hav understood how do we create a new form entry in forms publisher.
I hope u wud help me in my future queries.
