DBCS characters issue in TeamSite 6.1

We 've a DCT which allows 350 characters in a textarea field. However when it comes to Japanese/Chinese/Taiwanese, users are able to update only 90 characters. Is there an option to make it uniform across all field (say 350 chars)

This is due to 1 byte per character usage for english character and 4 bytes per character for all Chinese/Japanese family fonts.

You may have to check on the language to be used and has to check for text length dynamically. May be prior to save or on Blur of that textarea.

As per me there's no limit of characters in textarea.. if you are getting the problem then you can explicitely define the maxlength...

For making the lenght uniform I guess u'll have to write some run time custom scripts as Kaalra has suggested.. but u may contact Interwoven to give detailed information on this...
