Has anyone implemented a blog using TeamSite?

Hi,

We are running TeamSite 6.5.0 Service Pack 3 , OpenDeploy 6.1.1. on MS Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP 1.

Has anyone here coded any type of blogging functionality for a corporate intranet/internet web site, using TeamSite, Forms Publisher, Workflow, and OpenDeploy? I'm thinking about giving it a shot; I'm sketching out some high-level ideas on how to implement something with the basic "Blogger" features - archive, rss feed, categories, comments, maybe simple keyword search.

If anyone has any high-level design tips, or tales of horror from their own attempts to do this, I would love to hear them.

Why do this with Teamsite? You'll have less headaches and a better system if you look at Movable Type or CommunityServer or even WordPress.

I believe LiveSite 3.0 will ship with some sample blog example.

I'm agreeing with iomike above. Look into Movable Type. You can manage the templates that receive the blog updates in TeamSite if you wish.

Using blogsites or movable objects are always preferable but if you wish to do it with the help of Teamsite.. below would be my suggestions...

1. Create a web application (J2EE, ASP), which will contain the contents created by Teamsite.

2. When user wish to add comment it will pop up the Form Publisher and user would be able to add a different comment (a replicant) to it.

3. He can submit it from Form Publisher (Finish) or from the web application.

4. Submit will invoke a workflow.. which may need approval if it's the requirement. It will also add the new DCR to STAGING.

5. If it needs approval then after approval you can Publish and Deploy the new file (HTML, ASP, JSP) to desired locations. (Open Deploy)

6. You can update you database also as per requirement. (Data Deploy)

7. You can use web search (JSP, ASP) for searching any particular blog/comment from web server or database.

This is just an skeleton as what we can do. Rest depends upon your requirement.
