DCR to be saved at specific path

Hi,

When i save my DCR from a DCT, I want it to be saved to a specific folder under the templatedata/data folder. Please let me know how this can be acheived.

Are you using an autonaming script or OOTB functionality to save the DCR?

Also, please mention your environment details. E.g. TS version, OS etc

I want the user to give a name for the DCR and then save the DCR by that name in the specific folder. I am using Teamsite 6.5 in Windows environment.

I suggest you to capture the Save Event and provide him the interface using CGI to enter the file name along with the path options.

Rest, you can use the inputs as per your requirement.

You can call a cgi script onSave event of the DCR and fetch the cgi form variables value or workarea and append this to the dcr name and save it.

Yah, Got it done using IWNameFactory.setDCRPathGenerator(). But i have generated the DCR name automatically. Thanks all for your help.

TO follow up, a best practice is to use a call server to see if the directory needs to be created as well as if the file already exists. You may or may not need to do those.

I only see setAutoDCRPathGenerator() in the docs and it does not mention building the directory tree if required. I have implemented a number of templates with a form: templatedata/cat/type/data/DIR1/DIR2/foo.xml

DIR1 and DIR2 are configurable (often read from a config DCR) so it is easy to expand. The callserver will create the dirs and make certain the permissions are correct. Now if there is a function to do that for me, I will use it next time.
