Hi, We have been a massing more and more workflows in our system these days. Does anyone have any metrics on the number of active workflows in TeamSite compared to system performance? Specifically how does the amount of workflows in a system impact system performance? At what point is system performance affected?

I don't know specifics, and I'm not sure if it's changed in recent releases - but it used to be the number of tasks defined in active workflows not just the number of active workflows - and the number was something like 20000 tasks would start to show performance degradation.

This also indicates to me that there are some issues with your workflows. Why are there so many active jobs ? What tasks are they in ?

2 things I always have in my workflow are a timeout on all external tasks, which will go to an admin fix task. Thus when a task breaks I can catch it and fix it.

Second I do not allow the same file on a branch to be submitted to a job if it is already in a job.

These force the number of active jobs to a manageable number.
