How do we change the default insertion task from (Insert Unmodified) to one of our custom tasks? The (Insert Unmodified) task is read only so...
How do we reorder the items in the "Metadata Adder" transformer task? they always appear alphabetically and our users want them grouped more locally (like we configured in the Metadata groups)

You can do #1 in the web client. I do not think it is possible in the windows client.

1) I know we can pick a different insertion task, but I want to change the default so it always starts with our "Company Generic asset insertion" task everytime the user adds an asset - i dont see a way to do change this setting in the webclient or in the docs. and as i stated the (insert unmodified) task is read-only in the web client

2) please do find out, thanks! if not, what is the workaround you recommend for this? its sort of odd seeing Address Line 1 at the top of the insertion task form then Zip code all the way at the bottom when users are entering metadata (it should flow logically no?)

#1 I am not just talking about picking a task from the dropdown. You can modify the asp code to default the dropdown to the task of your choice. The typical use case for this is water marking the assets.

This is not documented and would be considered a customization that has to be carried over manually whenever you upgrade.

ahhh ok sorry - is #1 supported even then? i would have to modify AddItem.asp to change the "selected" attribute to the item i wanted i assume?

The task list is generated on the fly. So you would have to do some hardcoding.

#1 is possible but it is hard to do it selectively. Can you give more details as to how you wish to customize it? For example, the system cannot distinguish between the default task to be used by an insertion as opposed to a check-in.

For #2 could you get what you want by setting up a task using runtime parameters? The default list only come sup during task editing. What other customers have done to reorder the RTP parameters is to add multiple metadata adder primitives to their task in the order they wish the fields to appear.

as for #1, i simply want to change the default task which is (insert unmodified) to our generic company "insert asset" field so we always have some relevant metadata

another question, any tips on how to customize the form i have attached? its quite ugly OOTB - i started looking at the MediaBin.css but its a pain - all i want to do are change the colours/fonts and remove the borders. users dont like why every field is repeated as a header (why is that dropdown arrow there?) then a label
