Converting dcr4.5 format to datacapture6.0.dtd format

Hi,

Can somebody throw some light on converting the DCRs which were generated with dcr4.5dtd format to datacapture6.0.dtd format. To give more insight on the problem, i have DCRs generated of dcr-type='iwov' and iam migrating the DCRs to a new server which has dcr-type='xml'. Is this feasible.

feasible - yes
trivial - not necessarily

To begin with - all pre-existing DCRs would need to be revised so that instead of something like:[html]
Fish
[/html]they appear as:[html]Fish[/html]You also need to change the DCTs to replace all instances of 'replicant' to 'container' with min/max values ... which might have further implications on the DCR but I don't believe so.
Assuming the translation of the above two items maintains the structure and naming of the items - I believe the PT code shouldn't have to change - but you need to test everything anyway - so if it does ...

Both the first and second tasks, above, can be scripted - I believe that TeamSite:CRnode should make it significantly easier with it's get_xml() method. Something like (Warning: UNTESTED code):

You'd probably want to expand the above so that it was a self-contained recursive program that traversed at least a single given data/ directory if not an entire templatedata/ directory.

If you go this route - please post the final code used and indicate what steps you needed to go through to do it...
