Hide Default metadata fields
iwTech
Hi to all ,
Basic question
I uploaded an asset to MediaBin using Insert Unmodified task
When I look at the metadata for that asset, For example , a .jpeg file ,
by default mediabin is showing the “Bit depth” field
I want to hide this filed from all the users .
How can I achieve this?
When I Upload a pdf file , It showing the Subject and Title Metadata fields
But it is not showing the Key words field .
How can I show Key words ?
Thanks
Vin

I do not think you can hide metadata fields that have values. In the same way you cannot show metadata fields that do not have values (by default, unless you can show all editable metadata fields).
Does the pdf file that you have uploaded have keywords associated with it before ingesting into MB?
The solution to show only a limited number of metadata fields is to use metadata groups. Refer to the admin guide for more information on this.

Yes , the pdf files that I upload contains keywords.
Metadata field
Description
for pdf files displays Metadata field
Subject
in MediaBin for the same pdf file
The situation is like user will add Or Edit metadata while they are creating the
Assets in Adobe. I tried using the xmp mapping but it is not working the way I expected.
So I want to train the user to edit the metadata fields ,which visible both
mediaBin and Adobe applications , while upload and download the assets
Where can I find more about the default metadata fields that visible in MediaBin
for different assets
Thanks

I do not think there is a document that specifies default metadata fields for different asset types in MB.

The easiest way to hide a piece of metadata is to set security to Everyone - No Access.
Metadata groups handle a similar issue but they need to be selected.
PDF's should display keywords if present (we never leave a placeholder for absent metadata) but there is the possibility that there may be some reason we are not reading from this particular file. If you pas sit along to support they can give you a better answer.
