ERROR: Failed to stop Interwoven Servlet Engine

Hi,

I have installed Ts 7.1.0 on Sun 9 server. After the installation the TS ui is not accessable. I tried using CLT: iwreset -a, it's throwing the following error:

ERROR: Failed to stop Interwoven Servlet Engine. Check /appl/Interwoven/TeamSite/local/logs/iwui/servletd.log

The servletd.log file has following info:

Are you refering to TS 6.7.1..

Did you check if the iw process is running in the server by using

ps -ef | grep iw
if any service is running kill the process using

kill -9 processID

then stop and start the teamsite services

I did a fresh installation of teamsite 6.7.1 on Linux Red Hat enterprise 4. After the installation, I did a reboot of the machine. Then i found the ERROR: Failed to stop Interwoven Servlet Engine in the iwserver.log. This is really a starnge even with a fresh installation iam facing this problem..

Have you verified if that file exists?
If so - what are the permissions on the file and its containing directory?
If it doesn't exist - what are the permissions on the containing directory?

If you (as the person logged into the shell running the iwreset command) don't have access to that file or directory - that could be the source of the problem - or perhaps it needs to be owned by iwui instead of root or vice-versa.

Are you root when you run this command ?

Check the JVM\ jRE version on your RHEL 4. I think, that is the issue. If that is not the compatible one, install the compatible JVM.

You should check the admin guide or release notes for TS 6.7.1 on Red Hat. It needs a patch or some sort of file system in order to run it.

Look at the other log files and/or try running iw.webd start manually - I believe it's a ksh script and, if memory serves - you can run it as: ksh -x /appl/Interwoven/TeamSite/iw-webd/bin/iw.webd start (as root or via sudo) and can probably get a better idea of what's failing.

In the past, there have been problems if the UCB modules/packages weren't installed - but that's just a wild guess without seeing the actual problem in detail.
