Is it possible to customize or configure the import launchpad applet to:

1. Restrict the length of name of the file being imported (i.e. maximum length of 20 characters) and to truncate and rename the file on import (i.e .thisisalongfilenametoimport.doc becomes thisisalongfilenam_1.doc)

2. Prevent files with 'invalid' characters being imported (i.e. '£&%' etc.) or to remove them on import.

To the best of my knowledge there is no ability to customize the OOTB import functionality.

To do what you want, you'd need to write you own import CGI.

However - you might fire off a feature request for this with IWOV Support, and maybe some day they'll add such functionality.

The alternative is to make sure your submit workflows perform this check before actually submitting the file -- this will work as long as the users don't run iwsubmit from the command line....
