Using Visual Format Editor outside of TeamSite

Does anyone know if it is possible to reference the Visual Format Editor outside of a ContentCenter DCT? An example would be in a standard HTML page. I didn't know if the syntax to call it would be the same, or if it's even possible. We would be saving the data to a database separate from TeamSite as well. Has anyone tried this?

Do you mean re-using VFE from your TS Server outside of DCT Framework? If the answer is "Yes", there is no supported
way to do so. It is however not that hard to hack, take a look at iwhome/httpd/webapps/content_center/formspub/datacapture_editor_popup.html
to see how TS Developers coded VFE popup for DCT. Note that you do not have to modify this module, I've suggested it as a sample of what you
should be doing in your own code.

It is also possible to do that completely outside of TS Environment. VFE is the IWOV adaptation of the product named eWebEditPro,
by Ektron. You can get/install/configure it on your Web Server(s). If that's your case I would look on the Web at other HTML Editors
as well, there are both free and commercial alternatives that may suit you better
