Teamsite branch suddenly unable to deploy

This may well be a stupid question but I'm a newbie, we do that sort of thing.

One of my branches in teamsite suddenly has a problem deploying. The error I get is as follows:

You can not deploy from this container-branch at d:\iw-home\httpd\iw-bin\tmo_****_od.ipl line 338.

This happens right after selecting an edition in this branch and selecting File->Deploy edition

Can anyone help point a new guy in the right direction?

What does the ipl file do?
selecting File->Deploy edition is it a workflow?
Does ur ipl perform any check for branch?

You are having some trouble with custom code that was written for your system. Unless one of the original developers happens to be on devnet you are SOL. Better find someone who knows perl and can debug the system.

I am a complete newbie and have felt so much pain over these last few months in trying to upgrade really, really old custom code. And not being a Java or Perl programmer.

All I can offer is that when I'm in Editions, and I select an Edition, if I select the File menu, I get no choice to Deploy Edition. So as someone stated, looks like someone customized the UI to call that custom IPL script when you click that link.

Maybe if you post the IPL file you may find someone who is willing to help you go through it.
