Have any of you guys read the book “The Definitive Guide to Interwoven TeamSite (Definitive Guides)” by Brian Hastings and Justin McNeal

Can you please tell me your review comment about this book?

I have read the first fifteen chapters of it. My conclusion thus far is that it is NOT a definitive guide, meaning that you will still need many other sources of information to develop solutions involving TeamSite. However, it is a good book to read in that it does lay down a solid foundation of information into which you can integrate your learnings from other sources (TeamSite documentation, Interwoven training, Interwoven Knowledge Base, this forum, etc.).

The authors spend a significant number of pages, more than I wish they had, discussing the "Rational Unified Process" for developing software. I guess they felt they needed some kind of framework or outline on which to hang their explanation of TeamSite, so they chose RUP. If you are in a hurry to learn how to write a workflow or how to build a data capture form, you are probably not going to appreciate their approach. Also, some of the chapters seem like just "core dumps" of the same info you would find in Interwoven's own documentation, with a dash of RUP thrown in just to pad it.

So, all in all, it is a useful book, but it shouldn't be your ONLY guide to TeamSite. Personally, I have learned more from the information in this forum than from any other single source.
