Web CMS (TeamSite)
last modified = "SYSTEM"
System
Using version 5.5.1 and now with 5.5.2 on a win2k platform, I've noticed some unexplainable behavior. At certain points, all of my files are updated to say they were last modified by "SYSTEM". This is problematic because after this happens I have files in my workarea that have a "+" after the revision number even though they are the exact same file (by size and last mod date) as the one in Staging.
This problem is not related to not freezing the backing store prior to doing a backup. No backups have been done on this machine to date.
Does anyone have an idea as to what may be causing this situation?

Note: administrators have setup Norton to do a scan of the entire machine (TS box) every night. Is it possible that this is changing the last modified value (even though the time and date is not changing)? When I do a compare on a workarea, the files that come back as different, really are not. The time stamp and date stamp are identical as well as the size but they each have different values for who last modified the file and the "newer" version has the value of "SYSTEM".

Yes, this could be caused be the virus scan. the admins should exclude the Y: drive (KB 1413, 1455).
i've also seen backups do this to files, if the backing store isn't frozen or the teamsite services aren't stopped.

What about the iw-store? Should that be excluded also?

you would not want to exclude iw-store. otherwise, you really haven't backed up your data.

Not trying to do a backup. The exclusion question is for the anti-virus software. I've decided not to exclude it from the scan but simply exclude the Y:\ drive.
Thanks for your help.
