inline causing error when rule does not match

I have an inline that works perfectly when the vpath of the file I'm tagging matches the rule that contains the inline. However when tagging files that do not match the vpath e.g another site the form breaks with an error message. If I take the inline out all is well.

The inline simply writes out elements in a select control. Is this a product issue?

What inline is this ? Your own or an IWOV provided ? It is possible that the form does not like the shorthand . Can you try just an open/close ?
