I am searching for any documentation on using FieldMapping.xml in ts search.
Env : TS 6.7.1 on unix Sun Solaris.

Any documents / feedbacks are welcome.

I went through this section of document. Still I had a question.

Can we use FieldMapping.xml to add more options under a selectbox that says "Indexed" (with default 14 Standard File Attributes (such as templatingtype,owningareaid...)?

For Ex.

Please see attached.

So will this "subtitle" appear in "SelectBox" in "Advance Search" UI?

The index manager log on start clearly says :

See the attched document on how to add the new extendid attribute to the TS asset and make it searchable from the indexed drop down in search screen.

Will the solution you provided work for fields inside the DCRs? I don't believe they will as it seems to only pertain to meta data.

Are you looking to include fields from the EAs, or from fields inside the DCRs?
I am also looking to add fields from inside my DCR similiar to you if that is the case. Is this possible?

Just RTFM and was able to decipher how to get the field to show up for my DCR fields.

Manual to some extent does explain about adding dcr fields in Search UI
(ts.670.admin.unix.pdf )
mapping templateType, templatingFields, xpath , fieldSpecification and so on.

Examples could have been more useful though. At this time, they are quite basic in nature. It will help all of us if someone can post better examples on search mapping file / query xml.

Hi everyone,

Can someone help me out in this:

I want to make a search using cmd line tool (iwsrchquery).

Can we use "attributeComparison" for "DATE" fields on "templatingAttribute" type of attributes?

Basically I want to search "DATE" type of dcr fields to carry out search. Is this something that is 'achievable'? ex. : start_date,end_date are the dcr fields and i want to search them using custom query using "iwsrchquery".

Any help is appreciated.

You can try this, Set the search to the debug mode. Make the desired query from the UI and pick the XML from logs to extract the query and try using this with the CLT.
