MultiSchema Deployment Clarification

Hi,

I am trying to do a mulit schema deployment in a single database server. I have configured the following files: -

(1) database.xml - holds two different "database" elements for two different schemas.
(2) ddconfig.xml

For the above configuration i am calling an external ipl script from workflow which will run the CLT to deploy the contents to database. The result is it is deploying the contents only to the first schema that has been plaaced first in the database.xml and not the second schema.

It would be great if anyone could provide a solution on the same.

In your ddconfig.xm you have commented

Does your ddcfg.dtd allow you to include two dbschema inside database?

Post the ddcfg.dtd file for reference.

Did you try different combination of the configuration

1) one source and two destination xml tags?
2) one source ,one destination,two databases?
3) one source ,one destination,one database, two dbschemas?

if none of the above works, have two definition and run the two definitions at same time

I have tried with the scenarios that you have mentioned, which i have attached in the document. But still i am able to deploy only to one of the schemas and not for both the schemas.

I have tried all the scenarios with the same configuration in the database.xml also which i have mentioned in the attached document.

Please let me know if you need more details on the same.

when trying the option with two definitions, did the logs were created for each deployment leg.

Can you post those log files.

In the configuration I can see this variable used in the filelist /$forex_rate_filelist, so when the first deployment is executed does the file get deleted and for the second deployment will the file be available?

Can you please explain what you mean here with two definitions. Is it the element which has to be replicated in the ddconfig file?

I assume that you are talking about the third scenario in the document "configuration.doc". What happens is whenever i try to deploy the DCR content i get 3 log files whic h is the DEV-APP-FILELIST, DEV-WEB-FILELIST and DEV-MASTER-FILELIST. Out of the 3 i am able to open the file "DEV-MASTER-FILELIST" whereas the other two file i am not able to open since it has not been created in the original location.

Yes, you are correct i have configured for the forex_rate_filelist but when the deployment is happening i am able to see the filelist whereas i am not able to see it once the deployment is happened.

Please let me know if you need more information on the same.
