Installation of SP

Hi,

Do we need to need to freeze the store and stop iwserver before start of installation of service pack? or we can just go ahead and install the patch. As per the installation guide there is no mention of stopping services before installation.

Any suggestion.

If you cannot ensure that all users are off the system before you attempt the installation - freezing the server is probably a minimum. The installer should be able to detect (and tell you) if you need to stop the server (assuming it can't do so itself - but as you need to do the installation as root / Administrator, it should have sufficient privileges to do so)

Typically the installer will stop the services automatically. I cannot remember specifically if your rev does, but I would say it is very likely the installer will do it for you, or prevent you from installing if it does not.
