Hard code email address in ccmail_header.tpl not work

I tried to hard code the sender email address in the ccmail_header.tpl.

The intention of the commented out code is to use the owner of the email task as the sender - the recipient is usually the owner of the task referenced via the '-t' command line parameter.

If you want email to always come from the same user - you should probably just make the owner of the email task be that user rather than modifying the OOTB PT like that --- or make a copy of the PT and use your copy.

Yea, often Perl will complain if the email is user@company.com, it should be user\@company.com

The email_map.cfg file is XML - and XML doesn't have a problem with '@' - if Perl reads the value in - it won't have a problem with it either unless you try to eval() the string that contains it (in which case you could use \Q...\E or quotemeta($string) to escape the non-alpha-numeric characters)

One more way is have a task variable which will store the author userid and in the
ccmail_header.tpl you can read the userid and pass it to iwov_emailmap user.

By default you will have the email address in the email_map.cfg.

Only change you have to do is read the workflow varaible as

dcr.workflowinformation.task[0].variables.variable[0]

hardcoding the email id in ccmail_header.tpl will not help as the iwov_emailmap will call a perl module and in the perl module the domain address will be appended to the user id .

What if the email address are not attach to any TeamSite user (owner)?

Can I like adding a line in email_map.cfg:

You answered your own question before I could ;-)

As was mentioned in a previous response (by "cute_guy") you can use custom task-level variables and a custom PT that reads them. I would tend to use the variable names that were used in iwsend_mail.ipl - e.g.:

as it makes it clear what they are for -- then have your PT extract and use those values (whichever you are going to supply - or test for them and use them as overrides).

You may have to debug this at the SMTP level - which usually involves getting your local email/system administrator to assist you.

It's a combination of things - sometimes it depends on whether the From address is considered a valid internal email address, whether the To and/or CC addresses are considered valid internal email addresses or whether certain external domains have been configured to be allowed, and also whether or not the SMTP server is properly configured, etc.

I believe not. because I just overwrite all template and perl script (solutions & vannotate folder) from another environment which is working fine.

Yes, I've checked and the path is correct.

found out the reason why the email doesn't send out. it's because the setting in iw.cfg was set to:

maildomain = smtp.tm.com.my
mailserver = smtp.tm.com.my
use_mapping_file = false
email_mapping_file = \app\tmcrm\Interwoven\TeamSite\local\config\wft\solutions\email_map.cfg

after set it to true, it works! Smiley Happy
