how to get item value in inline callout

Is there any way we can reference an item value present in datacapture form in Perl file I have in inline callout.

[item name="thisitem_shdbereferencedininline" pathid="thisitem_shdbereferencedinline"]
[text maxlength="5" required="f"]
[/item]
[item name="item_inlinecallout" pathid="item_inlinecallout"]
[inline command="perlfile.ipl" return-type=option]
[/item]

I need to refer to item "thisitem_shdbereferencedinline" through inline command .. is it possible

You can use call server for that purpose, would do what you want to achieve.

The script called by INLINE has the path to the Workarea and the DCT, but not to the DCR.

But as Sailesh said, (formAPI) callServer() can help here.

"cgi-callouts" are deprecated now we have to use only "callouts" as per 6.0dtd
