Help regarding Split function

Hello friends,

In my DCT, I have a textarea and a couple of radio box(with values Bulleted List/Numbered List).Depending on the selection of the radio box, in the final page, a bulleted list or numbered list is created from the data entered in the textarea.
Attached herewith is the code for Split function used in the TPL for displaying the list.
Here I am facing a problem.When the page is created for the first time, the list gets displayed perfectly(i.e. there is no empty bulleted/Numbered line).No when I come to the edit mode, if i hit "enter" after a particular value, the page gets displayed perfectly.But When i hit "enter" before a particular value, a blank bulleted\numbered line is created.

Can anyone point out what modification is needed in my attached code?
