iwwft_instantiator cgi does not work with the new workflow models.

Hi,

I have installed TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1 on a windows 2000 sp4 machine. I have installed the Workflow Modeler and have created a few workflows. I am now trying to use the iwwft_instantiate.cgi script to start a workflow automatically. However I am not sure about the syntax to use. Not sure what parameters are needed and in what format. Could you please give me usage along with a few examples?

Since I am new to the Workflow modeler, I am not sure if iwwft_instantiate.cgi works at all with workflow models created with the modeler so please explain me how to instantiate a workflow created by the modeler if this possible.
The following two urls show how we are currently using the iwwft_instantiator cgi to spawn a parent workflow and attach a child workflow to it.

Why are you trying to use the instantiator directly? I'm not sure if it works with WFMs - there's a good change it doesn't as the instantiation screen process is different.

I'd suggest trying to use the CCI URL /iw-cc/newjob as documented on page 122 of the UI Customization Guide for 671SP1 - although, as documented, it still seems to refer just to WFTs and not WFMs ...

However, it's an interesting question - if it's not that URI - is there a URI for instantiation WFM's? If you can't find anything on this site, check the support site. If you can't find anything there - I'd suggest opening a case with Support as this would seem a significant gap (there's iwmodelc for doing command line invocation - but I don't think that's what you want)

Unfortunately there isn't a way to do this. Instead we wrote our own Java servlet to handle the invocation. There isn't much coverage at all in the CS SDK working with instantiating models. I hear that it is coming in 6.7.1 SP2 though.

Thank you very much for your views and help! I have filed a case with Interwoven and they say the fix may be available soon. Currently I am using iwmodelc to instantiate the workflow and then attach the files to the job/task using a cgi script.
