Putting DCT/TPL in a common location (ie: in a branch)

Hi

Here at work, we currently have a situation where we have a branch to represent a province and inside this branch are more branches that represent a finanical institution's website in that particular province. All of these financial instutions use the same DCT/TPL's.

Would it be possible to move these DCT/TPL's into its own branch so that each "financial instution" branch can include the DCT/TPL's from the "common" branch.

Any ideas if this is possible?

This is done all the time. Very common.

You can reference a TPL with iw_include of another TPL, you can create an inline perl script to populate a DCT. All my DCTs run as inlines. This allows you to have some intelligence on what is shown, based on whatever parameters you desire. I also use perl modules to build common items (URLs, Images, etc) so change one and change them all.
