MediaBin and Quark questions

Our creative people use quark constantly and want to be able to place files in Quark/Illustrator, etc. directly from the media bin?

So when they are building quark docs w/ alot of images, can they browse to the mediabin server somehow directly? or are they forced to go to the web app, download the files, then add them that way?

ive read threads about this MediaBin quark plugin - what exactly does it do? where are the docs for it? will sales provide us w/ a demo?
