End all jobs of a User

Is there a way to end all redundant/ stale jobs partaining to a single user using a CLT? I looked in the manual but didn't find a CLT where i can query with regards to username to get all jobs and end those jobs. I have like 60 jobs which are sitting there and i guess which are affecting teamsite performance. When i try to list "All Jobs" it takes forever for Teamsite to load them.

Please advice.

Nope. I have before written a script that will do this, but it is custom (since it needs to look for certain data and not remove jobs that should nto be removed).

That being said, I do not see 60 hung jobs affecting performance. People have complained when the have 25K hung jobs, not 60.

In the time you try to write a script, you could do End Job on the 60.

One final point (I harp on this a great deal) determine where the jobs are hanging, it is most likely an external task that failed. Figuring out why it failed is a good idea. But so it putting a timeout in the WFT around all external tasks. If any external task fails for me I get an email (which itself has a timeout) and then it rolls into a task called Admin Fix, where I can see why it failed and then restart or terminate.

You can use iwqueryjobs to get the list of jobs owned by a certain person, parse that with perl and then run iwrmjob on each.Just don't mess it up, it could get ugly.

You might want to check the output of iwstat -c and/or look at the processes running on the server as it's possible that there may be some zombie processes resulting from bad code in externaltask scripts or something that may or may not be associated with the 60 old jobs you have hanging around (i.e. the two may co-exist but be independent of one another - and it's more like the process issue that will slow your performance)

i Was trying to use following command to get job list for a particular user, i am not successful in running the same.

iwqueryjobs -s < servername\username

can you guys direct me to the right command to get all the jobs of a particular user?

No, it needs to be something like

iwqueryjobs < someFile.xml

where someFile.XML looks like

[/html]

note that is from reading the DTD for about 30 seconds in the CLT manual. so my XML may be off.

note that will find jobs that are owned by a person, not tasks. Are they the owner ?

Yes the Owner is correct, but still gives the same error. I tried the query for tasks too, but still the same error. Did you get is working for you?

Did you try:

<wfquery>
  <and>
    <active/>
    <ownedby v="DLIVN01\andy"/>
  </and>
</wfquery>

You might need to include the standard XML header, but it's probably okay to try without it first.

Also - I know we're talking about Windows here - but which version of TeamSite?

I am on TS6.5 and 6.7 on windows.
