TS Search and search.private.properties

Even though, manual states that I should not be changing this file, unless instructed by the TS support, I am looking into improving the search/indexing performance.

Mostly I am interested in the slow indexing... Looking at the search.private.properties there are 3 properties

iw.index.agent.count
iw.index.bulk.threads
iw.index.incremental.threads


will I get any performance by increasing these values? Is there a 1-1 mapping between indexer and workarea?

No this will not upgrade the performance straight a way. There are many interrelated settings which are not to be changed and altered unless tech support suggests for this. Just bumping up these values might even make the search non functional.

Is there a 1-1 mapping between indexer and workarea?

There is dedicated indexer thread looking periodically for the WA, which basically looks for the modifications.
