Hi Guys I need some help wherin
I have a list of users in @users i want to do something like remove the person from the array if he matches iw_user and produce a new array
$count=@users;
for(i=1;i<=$count;i++){
if("$user"=~/iw_user/i){
$user="";
}
}
need to come up with new array

A few issues here.

1st I would make certain that your comparison is working, I suspect it is not.

you may try something like:

if($users=~ m/\Q$iw_user/i)

Also, try

push @newarray, $users;

Or may be he will. Even if not somebody else may get curious and realize that Perl is much more than mangled C/Java dialect.
Besides, provide a quick help and teach something are different things (although sometimes compatible)

You and I - we normally write working Software with all real life constraints, not oversimplified test-book samples for pupil to admire Smiley Happy

I did it as

@newarray=grep(!/$iw_user$/i,@users);

Modify regex slightly. It won't hurt and will make your code more portable. "As is" your code may fail in some Windows-style cases.
For example, try $iw_user = 'domain\boris'. The reason of course is that \b has a special meaning in regexes.

@newarray=grep(!/\Q$iw_user/i,@users);
