Impersonating Error

TS 6.7.1 SP1 on WIndows.

I was just playing around with SP1 using example templates. I was trying to preview a DCR being logged in as doiman\user, it gives me this error. But when i login as a administrator ont he box i never get an error.


Error: Impersonation failure user= DCS\andy; argcount=18; errCode=1317; cmd=C:\Interwoven\TeamSite\iw-perl\bin\iwperl.exe C:\Interwoven\TeamSite\bin\iwpt_compile.ipl -iw_pt-dcr Y:\default\main\Test\WORKAREA\Template_Test\templatedata\internet\auction\data\Test2 -pt Y:\default\main\Test\WORKAREA\Template_Test\templatedata\internet\auction\presentation\auction.tpl -ofile Y:\default\main\Test\WORKAREA\Template_Test\1194627055016_andy_preview.html -iw_include-location Y:\default\main\Test\WORKAREA\Template_Test -manifest Y:\default\main\Test\WORKAREA\Template_Test\zz_tst_DCS_andy_0_manifest -iw_pt-preview -smartwrite -oprefix zz_tst_andy_0_ -osenc CP1252 -umask 0113

I am thinking it is permissions issue, did anyone see this error.

hi,

I saw the same error while running an external task.
I checked for impersonate_without_password=false and an "iwutildreset", it worked for me.

Does the user have LogonLocally privilege? This is required.

Where is that line which u set false?iw.cfg?

Note that we changed the name of the flag that controls impersonation (on Windows only) in iw.cfg for 6.7.1SP1 . "impersonate_without_password=false" no longer disables user impersonation for external tasks.

New Setting To turn off impersonation of external tasks (including iwpt_compile.ipl):

[authentication]
disable_ext_task_impersonation=true // (the default value is false)

You can also turn off impersonation for specific commands/scripts in /etc/iwutild.cfg . Please see 6.7.1SP1 release notes for details.

It's a New Setting To turn off impersonation of external tasks.

Default is false == Use impersonation (ie, run the external task as the task owner)
manually set to true == Dont use impersonation (ie, run all external tasks as SYSTEM)

It's a Windows only flag.

It has no effect. You should remove it from iw.cfg for 6.7.1SP1 and later releases.
