In one of my Production server Files are getting deleted from STAGING area without deleting them from Workarea. Is this possible?. If yes what is the way ? is there any log which gets updates when files get deleted from STAGING to get to know who deleted and how those got deleted and when ?.Please adise. It's causing serious issues in my system.Thanks.Sanjeev
Files cannot be directly deleted from staging without deleting from the workarea and submitting them to the STAGING area.Do you have multiple workareas?Files could have been deleted from one WA and submitted to STAGING and so deleted from there but the other WA will still have the files as it is not updated with the STAGING.Check the Submit log to get more information on who has submitted the contents and there by deleting the files.
This is not the case with me. Yes We do have two WA's. But the file or directory which is missing from staging is present in only one WA's. That's why me too curious how this is Happening. I believe there is no submit.log, but instead they log inside iwevents.log. If submit.log exists please give me the location.Thanks.
Hi Sanjeev, It is very much possible if you have two workareas. If you using TS 6.5 and above, using the TS UI you can see the submit logs. Browse to the branch level and click "Submit Log" in front of STAGING. If you have two workareas and file is not present in the one workarea, it is possible if someone submits the complete folder from the other workarea (where file is not present), the file will be deleted from the staging.
