itemref edit error

Hi guys,

I've read doc about itemref, and I tried implementing these codes (taken from the doc pg 59)

I'm able to create new DCR correctly with recursive elements.
But when I tried editing that newly created DCR by clicking "Edit", all my recursive elements can't be seen.

When I opened the DCR directly from text editor, it is like this:

aseruanwelm

aseravasdf3r87778998780

[/HTML]

Notice that all the recursive elements were there, only not displayed correctly on the browser.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have a feeling you may be one of the few people who has attempted to use itemref's (or else nobody else is having problems with them?) - I've never found a need for them in the work I've done so far. That might account for the lack of responses.

Just as a thought - is this DCT defined as "iwov" or "xml" style in the templating.cfg? You seem to be writing the DCT as "xml" style, but it's worth verifying that it is defined as such.

Also are you using datacapture5.0.dtd or datacapture6.0.dtd?

There appear to be some differences in the way itemref is referenced within the DTDs - though the example seems to conform to the 6.0 DTD which I believe is stricter (in this case, anyway) than the 5.0 DTD - so it should be fine in either case, but ...

There's a certain amount of masochism (or perhaps sadism) with trying to provide for infinite recursion - though I'm not sure if that's the source of the problem.

Have you, by any chance, contacted IWOV Support? If you're using an example right out of the manual (or supplied with the product) and it's not working - that should be covered for being able to open a support case on it.
