Open Deploy Connection Error

Hi,

We are facing a problem while deploying files from one base server to other base server which acts as both sender and reciever.

When we tried to deploy files within the same server we were able to do it but when we tried to deploy files to other server which is also having base server installed and deploys to many other servers we are facing a problem.

The log file generated states a Connection error and says that there is a mismatch and no Open Deploy clients found for the sending server.

We are not able to figure out the problem and hence need a help to get through this deployment ASAP.

I'm assuming that you are not trying to do a reverse deployment (pulling from pauley to lowe) - if so - I believe that reverse deployments only work when pulling from a Receiver, not a Base Server (unless that's been fixed / changed recently?)

If pauley is the sender and lowe is the receiving base-server, then lowe's odbase.xml must contain pauley as an allowedHost with the appropriate path's for where pauley will be deploying - and lowe must be restarted after making those changes (iwodcmd serverreset should do it as opposed to stopping / starting the entire OD service)

If I managed to read this wrong, and lowe is the sender and pauley the receiving base-server, then you need to make sure that pauley is listed in lowe's odnodes.xml (and do an iwodcmd serverreset on lowe)

If the server configuration files are correct (odnodes.xml on sending server, odbase.xml on receiving server) and it's not working - are you sure that both servers can recognize each other by name? I.e. can you telnet to the other server's OD port to verify that it is listening / can "hear" you? If not, there may be a DNR or /etc/hosts type issue here -- or you're going through a firewall that's doing NAT, in which case you have to do the same thing you would do when deploying to a "normal" receiver through NAT. But I don't think that's the issue here.

One more thing - what version of OD (including patches, SPs) is running on lowe, and what version is running on pauley?
