HELP: Creating new users in TS 6.7.1

Hi,

I need some private lessons to get a TS 6.7.1 installation running...
perhaps someone can give me some hints.

I installed this:
TS 6.7.1 on
MS Windows 2003 EE SP1

My installation user is named MYDOM\tsadmin, it's an server administrator.
The system runs, everything ist ok.

Now I want to login on the TS login screen.
But which user should I use for that?!

Solution is simple. The admin guide says:[indent]"To add users to TeamSite, you must be a Master user. Select the Administration tab in
ContentCenter Professional." (page 72, ts.670.admin.win.pdf)[/indent]
Fine. But how can I login to CCPro, if I don't have such a master user?

In TS6.5-days we manually edit the master.uid files, now I read:[indent]"Do not modify the tsusers.xml file manually." (page 72, ts.670.admin.win.pdf)[/indent]
Also I tried to use some CLTs like iwuseradm, iwaccessmigrate and also iwstat or iwversion: I always get the error message ERROR 02422: No such teamsite user.

So, does somebody know, what the official procedure is, to add the "first" master user?

I haven't [yet] done a fresh 6.7.1 Windows installation, but as a guess ... If you're on Windows - you should be able to use the Administrator account - unless of course your IT folks disabled the account - in which case you need to get them to re-enable it long enough for you to get at least one master user created.

unfortunately you hit the bull's eye: we can't use the local admin account to login, cause we don't get the password :-(

I think you should have command line access on your windows box. First run

iwuseradm add-user tsadmin
iwuseradm set-master tsadmin true

You should be done.

you would see that it's not that easy to do if you don't already have a defacto master account to use.

unfortunately you hit the bull's eye: we can't use the local admin account to login, cause we don't get the password :-(

Tell the IT folks that they either have to work with you - or that they should explain to people who shelled out money for the product why they cannot allow you to properly install and configure the application.

Even though you mentioned that the Administrator guide suggest that you should not touch the tsusers.xml file, but the fact is that that is the only way to first get into the Teamsite for the first time.

Edit the tsusers.xml and add a user and then go about creating and adding new users.

If you have any other way do let me know. The above method was the only solution we found till date that keep us going over here.

Please let us know if you are facing any issue in the future... My concern is though Interwoven has recommended not to edit the XML file but if the administrator does that, ti may have an impact in someway or the other.. Please let us know what is you observation on this issue...
